Heat a generous drizzle of vegetable oil in a medium deep frypan over medium-high heat. Cook the dumplings, without turning, for 2-3 mins until golden on one side. Carefully add 60ml (¼ cup) water (take extra care adding water to the hot pan as the oil can spit and the steam created is very hot). Cover and steam for 3 mins or until the dumplings are tender.
Step 2 — Cook greens and warm rice
Meanwhile, thinly slice the spring onion. Trim the baby broccoli and put in a microwave-safe dish. Add a splash of water, cover and microwave for 4 mins or until tender. Drain. Massage the packet of rice to loosen and tear a 2cm opening for the steam to escape. Heat in the microwave for 90 secs or until warmed through.
Step 3 — Add stir-fry sauce
Add the stir-fry sauce, half the sambal oelek* (see Make it milder) and 2 tbs water to the dumplings and cook, gently stirring, for 30 secs or until slightly thickened. Remove the pan from the heat.
Step 4 — Serve up
Lightly drizzle the baby broccoli with vegetable oil, scatter over the sesame seeds and toss to combine. Divide the rice, dumplings and baby broccoli among bowls. Scatter with the spring onion and enjoy!
